Awah is a bilingual Researcher and program coordinator, responsible for the overall operational delivery of the scholarship program. She joined the Program at its inception in 2022 from her position as Higher Education Program Manager at the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA). Prior to this, she held an associate role with the United Nations Office for disarmament in Togo where she managed the education component of a Peacebuilding project in the Lake Chad Basin region. Her journey into Higher Education program management began at the African Leadership Centre, where she served as Peace and Security Scholarship Manager from 2013-2017. In this role, she combined her interests in Higher education and peace and security issues. Awah holds an Msc. in Peace, security and Development, from Kings College London and an LLM in International law.
