Abubakar Abass was a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
At KNUST, he distinguished himself through academic excellence and impactful engagement in sustainability initiatives. He was honoured with the Green Impact and Sustainability Ambassador Award and named the Most Promising Student at the 1st International Conference on Environment, Social, Governance, and Sustainable Development.
Abubakar’s academic and research interests lie at the intersection of development economics and sustainable finance, particularly in the context of African economies. He is passionate about exploring how policy reforms and innovative financial instruments can be leveraged to foster inclusive and resilient growth across the continent.
He is pursuing an MPhil in Development Studies. Through his studies, he aims to develop the analytical and policy skills needed to contribute to Africa’s sustainable development agenda.
