About
Adaobi Fiona Nwokeji is an early-career researcher from Nigeria with an interest in plant-microbe interactions, microbial diversity, biocontrol and bioremediation for sustainable agriculture.
Adaobi graduated with a first class honours degree in Crop Science from the University of Benin, where she received the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Award of Excellence.
She is a member of the African BioGenome Project and gained research experience as a Research Intern and Graduate Trainee at various research organizations in Nigeria, applying agronomic, microbiological and molecular techniques to plant health challenges.
Adaobi is pursuing an MPhil in Biological Sciences (Crop Science). After her master’s, she aims to lead initiatives addressing critical agricultural challenges in Nigeria and beyond, using the plant-soil microbiome to develop integrated pest and disease management strategies suited to African agro-ecological regions.
