Elizabeth Atuheire
About
Elizabeth Atuheire is a Ugandan feminist sociologist and social justice enthusiast. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (First Class Honours) from Makerere University, Uganda.
Driven by a passion to challenge social and gender inequalities, she founded YOHEP (You Have the Potential), a youth-led grassroots organization that empowers teen mothers in Uganda’s urban informal settlements. Drawing from considerable research experience and practice, she applies critical gender analysis to design transformative interventions that align with the global social development agenda.
Elizabeth is pursuing an MPhil in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies and seeks to deepen her analytical and methodological expertise, learning from interdisciplinary, rigorous and world-class teaching.
After her studies, Elizabeth will return to Uganda where she intends to contribute to academic and policy-oriented scholarship, mentor early-career researchers and collaborate with women’s rights movements to co-create gender transformative programs in Uganda and beyond.
