Gerald Munetsi
About
Gerald Munetsi is a mathematical modelling scholar from Zimbabwe who graduated with a first class honours degree in Applied Mathematics with Economics from the University of Zimbabwe.
His experience as a Mathematics lecturer in South Africa and participation in the Harvard Initiative, Aspire Leadership Program (ALP) 2025 has strengthened his quantitative expertise and enhanced his leadership capabilities.
Participating in One-Health programmes piqued his interest in infectious diseases and ignited Gerald’s passion for leveraging mathematical models and genomics surveillance to predict and track infectious disease patterns across Southern Africa, and inform evidence-based health policies.
Gerald is pursuing an MPhil in Population Health Science, after which he plans to collaborate with global health institutions on research projects. He intends to then complete a DPhil, where he will translate complex modelling and genomics findings into practical policy solutions through ethically responsible health research.
