Ruquaiya Shuaibu
About
Ruquaiya Shuaibu is a Nigerian computer scientist with a deep interest in how technology can solve real problems. Ruquaiya has previously obtained a first class degree in Computer Science at the University of Lancaster, Ghana, where she graduated as valedictorian and received multiple awards, including the Chancellor’s Medal for academic excellence.
She currently works as a software developer and volunteers part-time with the FutureMap Foundation, mentoring aspiring technologists and supporting digital inclusion initiatives across Nigeria.
Ruquaiya is pursuing an MPhil in Advanced Computer Science. Blending her interests in computing, sustainability, and community impact, she aims to research how Digital Twin technology can support environmental conservation at Cambridge. She hopes to build tools that help protect ecosystems and improve the lives of people in vulnerable environments across Africa.
