Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

 

Gilbert Nkpeniyeng is a development enthusiast from Ghana. He works on and leads education, youth empowerment, and rural development initiatives. His interests include digital inclusion and human-centered design. As a consultant, Gilbert supports community engagement, research, and content design for Amplio Talking Book programs in areas such as child development, gender roles, and women’s livelihoods. He currently leads a project to educate 300,000 adolescents on sexual and reproductive rights. He also secured a grant to improve smallholder farmers’ profits and productivity through climate-smart agriculture. Gilbert will pursue an MPhil in Development Studies at Cambridge University.
