Laura Wathe is a civil engineer from Kenya who will be pursuing an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development. Her diverse industry experience in manufacturing, structural design, construction, and transportation development has fueled her passion for creating resilient infrastructure. Witnessing firsthand the vulnerability of civil infrastructure to wear, natural disasters, and climate change, Laura is committed to designing and implementing context-specific, climate responsive solutions for Africa. Her goal is to improve the continent's adaptive capacity by building infrastructure systems that can thrive in the face of future challenges.
