The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Cambridge is designed to provide students from under-represented communities in Africa with fully-funded opportunities to complete their master’s training, grow their leadership potential, and contribute to climate resilience and sustainability efforts across Africa.
I have secured funding for my PhD thanks to the chance the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program gave me with my MPhil. Doing my MPhil in Cambridge gave me direct access to scholars and mentors who supported me in this journey. I am indeed grateful. 2022/2023 Female Scholar
Recognising the wide range of expertise needed to respond to these challenges, prospective Mastercard Foundation Scholars can apply to most courses available at the University of Cambridge.
Selection criteria include:

- A desire and commitment to contribute to climate resilient and sustainable futures for Africa and the world at large
- Leadership potential
