Claire Matsika is a Zimbabwean scholar with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Zimbabwe. Having previously worked at an agricultural research facility, she recognised the need for enhanced climate-resilience in Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector. Motivated by this realisation, Claire will be pursuing an MPhil in Biological Sciences with a focus on crop science. She aims to understand sustainable crop production while acquiring skills in crop improvement techniques. Claire hopes to leverage the knowledge gained to significantly contribute to Zimbabwe’s food security.
