Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

 

Phoebe Ndiema is Gender Justice and Mapping officer from Kenya who will be pursuing MPhil in Conservation Leadership. Prior to coming to Cambridge, she worked at the community-led organization Chepkitale Indigenous People Development Project (CIPDP) where she built capacity of women and youth in land rights and conservation focusing on Ogiek people of Mt. Elgon. She also led a consortium of Mapping project which saw her community advance their land rights and conservation efforts and was previously Biodiversity Fellow at the University of Oxford. Through her studies at Cambridge, she hopes to gain leadership skills to help promote Indigenous Knowledge in conservation.
