Liniet Gitonga is a civil engineer from Kenya, who is dedicated to sustainable infrastructure development. She will be pursuing an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development at the University of Cambridge. Her research aims to investigate the effective translation of climate financing into measures that can strengthen resilience in response to climate change and effectively manage associated risks in Kenya’s infrastructure sector. She seeks to fortify financing models that prioritize climate accountability and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices in every phase of project implementation in Kenya. Her work will contribute to the development of context-specific solutions for climate-resilient infrastructural development in Africa.
