Sheunesu Toro is an electrical engineer from Zimbabwe who will pursue an MPhil in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management. Before his studies at Cambridge, he worked on designing grid connection infrastructure for wind farms in South Africa. Sheunesu’s work experience made him notice the need to bolster renewable energy technology supply chains to meet the growing demands for sustainable energy, as more than half of African nations experience power shortages. Through the skills gained from his course, Sheunesu hopes to contribute to increasing the manufacturing capacity for renewable energy technologies in Africa.
